Bodio Lomnago (VA)

New single-family house.

The geometric variance between the roof and the volume of the house shows the family formation, with its various geographic origins and the different personalities of each member.

The interior of the house was designed with the idea of increasing intimacy, starting with the shared space of the living room, the main reception area, then moving onto the kitchen and into the bedrooms with their private spaces.

The first floor is characterized by the exposed roof,  the design took advantage of the height of the rooms to build a mezzanine level in the girls' bedrooms. This solution meant the mezzanine could be freed of the beds and a space for studying and spending time with friends could be created. Putting the beds on the mezzanine levels accentuated their intimate nature.
